For Evans Hunt

Lynx Air

Lynx is Canada’s newest ultra-affordable airline. They engaged Evans Hunt for branding and campaign work across web, email, print, and OOH. I was the primary copywriter on the account from just before the launch of their inaugural flights to January 2024. I participated in everything from brainstorming, campaign creation, and even writing the copy for the onboard safety card.

People’s Choice Beef Jerky

PCBJ is a beloved family business founded and still operating in downtown Los Angeles. The Bianchetti family was great to work with and let us explore some really fun concepts, including a whole suite of “fake” products for a subscription service. As the primary copywriter on the account, I wrote copy that appeared on bags, digital ads, and their website.

Community Natural Foods

The original Calgary health food store! A client as delightful as their iconic sunflower logo, which they’ve used since the store opened in 1977, I loved writing for CNF. As a large part of their mission is to provide food for everyone, regardless of their needs or restrictions, CNF’s language is careful and deliberate but still welcoming and playful.

Fitness Ally AI-Powered Home Fitness App — Brand voice, screenwriting, voice direction, content management

Fitness Ally

Fitness Ally was an ambitious project created by the AI experts at Twenty Billion Neurons GmbH. “Allie”, the virtual personal trainer, used sophisticated AI and your device camera to “see” your movements and give you live, fully-voiced feedback and tips while you exercise. I was brought on as a scriptwriter to create over 15,000 lines of dialogue, and from there I became their voice director, brand voice expert, and overall communications & content manager.

The Difference Between Meditation and Sleep

For Muse, a deep dive into the different types of alertness in the brain.
Another science-y piece that was fun to research and challenging to present in a readable way. (Turns out science is complicated!)

Unlocking Your Brain: White Matter VS Grey Matter

For Muse, a mindfulness and meditation tech company, on the difference between the two types of brain matter. One of the things I loved about writing for Muse was learning about the science behind the brain.

Really enjoyed working for this Toronto-based company. Anyone interested in meditation should check them out!

Spotlight: Phil Jackson – Mindfulness in Basketball

Probably my favourite piece I wrote for Muse—I experimented with structuring this like a New Yorker article. I especially liked leading with the embedded Twitter quote, something I never do.

What is the difference between meditation and mindfulness?

For Muse, a mindfulness and meditation tech company. I got to explore the difference between two words that are often used interchangeably. This piece is mostly framed around an interview with Ariel Garten, a meditation expert and one of the high-ups at Muse. Converting video content into written content is always interesting, and finding ways to dig deepr into topics only covered briefly in a video or speech makes me feel like a gumshoe.

The Secret To Success: Celebrities Who Meditate

“The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.”
– Obi-Wan Kenobi

For Muse, a mindfulness and meditation tech company. I was surprised they let me lead with paragraphs about The Force and Dune, but I had a really awesome content manager who gave me a lot of flexibility.

Solink + 7Shifts + Toast Co-Promotion Video

A promotional video I wrote and co-directed for Solink highlighting how well the software integrates with the tech stack of a modern, fast-paced restaurant.

Starring me!

(I’m the skinny guy in the glasses, not the tattooed hunk in the thumbnail. Sorry.)

How To Avoid Common Holiday Return and Refund Scams

For better or worse, the holiday sales season doesn’t end with Christmas Day. The week after Christmas is a hotbed for post-holiday sales. It is also the biggest period for retail returns of the year, with an estimated 25% of all retail returns each year happening in the week after Christmas.

3 Things You Need To Know Before You Open A Franchise Restaurant

For those who have dreamed of owning a restaurant, franchising can seem like a one-way-ticket to business success: Instead of spending hundreds of hours working out the intricacies of branding, operations, and developing a business model, just buy a license for a business that has done all that for you. Add to that the advantage of having a name that consumers already associate with a particular standard of quality and customer service; that recipe for success is the entire appeal of the franchise life.

Solink Stories: The case of the casual dining purse grab

In the summer of 2018, a group of four people met for dinner at a popular restaurant chain in downtown Toronto. Two of them, visitors from Brazil, had their purses stolen while they ate. Despite having a security team on site, nobody saw the theft occur.

It was a busy Saturday night; this location (whose name we’re omitting for obvious reasons) is right in the middle of the entertainment district, steps from TIFF, The Second City, the Rogers Centre, and the CN Tower. In fact, our two victims had been at the Tower just that evening. A great time to execute a theft, and an easy place to lose track of your purse.
